PSAC RELEASES CUSTOMS AND REVENUE AGENCY
STRIKE VOTE RESULTS

OTTAWAAt a news conference this afternoon, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), and its components the Customs Excise Union Douanes Accise (CEUDA) and the Union of Taxation Employees (UTE), will release the results of the national strike vote which has been conducted among PSAC members employed by the new Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA).

"The strike vote was prompted by a frustrating week of negotiations with CCRA in January during which management spent a grand total of four hours at the bargaining table during a five-day period," according to PSAC National President Daryl Bean.

Spokespersons at the news conference will talk about the implications the strike vote may have for Canadians filing income tax returns and planning cross border trips.
