PSAC agrees to hold off strike actionOTTAWA - "The Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have agreed to hold further meetings commencing Wednesday, April 18, in an attempt to successfully conclude a collective agreement based on the April 10 unanimous Conciliation Board Report," says PSAC National President Nycole Turmel.
Turmel adds that the parties met briefly today and identified a number of issues which remain to be resolved.
"In light of these upcoming meetings and the long holiday weekend, the PSAC has given the CFIA a commitment that it will not authorize or encourage strike action against the Agency during the period April 17 through April 23, 2001," Turmel says.
