PSAC's Jane Phelps rebuffs Paul Martin
OTTAWA - Irritated by the contempt shown by her employer, the Government of Canada, Jane Phelps, an Ottawa administrative assistant invited herself into the office of the Minister of Finance, Paul Martin. She asked him to show some respect during the current negotiations with 120,000 federal public sector employees working directly for the Government, the Parks Canada Agency and the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

Turmel will also outline the union's plan to obtain a general strike mandate from 90,000 unionized workers who work directly for the Government.
In addition, the PSAC regional executive vice-president for the National Capital Region (NCR), John Baglow, will give details about the specific activities being held in the Ottawa-Hull region in preparation for the strike vote.
