NAC Ushers and Guides take contract dispute to office of Hull’s Mayor

OTTAWA - Public Service Alliance of Canada members who work as Ushers and Guides at the National Arts Centre (NAC), will take their contract dispute tomorrow to the offices of Mayor Yves Ducharme, a member of the NAC’s Board of Directors.

"As a member of the NAC’s Board of Directors, Mayor Ducharme can have an impact on whether or not these workers are forced onto the picket line," says John Baglow, PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President for the National Capital Region. "It’s time for him to realize that a stike will be much more costly to the NAC than the cost of settling the issues in dispute. It’s also time for him to get involved and urge Peter Herrndorf to come up with an agreement that will be both reasonable for the NAC and fair for the ushers and guides."
