NEWS MEDIA ADVISORY

PSAC warns National Defence plans for
military supply chain a disaster in the making

OTTAWA - At a time when serious allegations are being made about federal contracts, National Defence and the federal government are pursuing plans to turn the military supply chain over to a British firm. Canada’s Armed Forces depend on the supply chain both for military operations and in civilian emergencies.

Representatives of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE) warn that this move could have serious consequences for our military men and women and for the Canadian public. Turning over the operation to a private company will also have put this essential service beyond the control and scrutiny of Canadians.

The news conference will take place:

TIME:    10:30 a.m.

PLACE:   J.C. Carlo Boardroom, ground floor
