WHAT:
PSAC’s triennial national women’s conference bringing together women from across Canada.
WHEN:
Friday, September 13: Opening address by Nycole Turmel at 9:00 a.m., followed by the panel with Maude Barlow and Nahla Abdo.
Saturday, September 14: Vivian Barbot, Jamie Kass, Theresa Johnson panel - 10:15 to 12:00 noon
WHERE:
Ottawa Marriott Hotel, 100 Kent Street.
WHY:
Act Now! Build Our Future! is the theme of this national conference. PSAC takes great pride in its important gains for women in the areas of pay equity and collective bargaining. However, much work remains to be done to achieve full equality in our workplaces, our union, our communities and in society at large. Nor can PSAC women ignore their connections to other women not just in Canada but around the world.
In a series of workshop sessions, PSAC women members at this national conference will analyse what is happening in their communities, nationally and internationally, and develop a plan of action for their union.
MEDIA
There will be a seating area in the Victoria Ballroom at the Marriott for media during the guest speaker panel sessions on Friday and Saturday. Contact PSAC Communications staff in advance to arrange interviews.
