PSAC women meet to chart economic action plan
OTTAWA - More than 250 women members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) will meet in Ottawa in September to develop plans to advance and promote women’s economic justice and security in the face of increasing globalization.
Act Now! Build Our Future! is the theme of this national conference. PSAC takes great pride in its important gains for women in the areas of pay equity and collective bargaining. However, much work remains to be done to achieve full equality in our workplaces, our union, our communities and in society at large. Nor can PSAC women ignore their connections to other women not just in Canada but around the world.
Guest speakers will address how globalization is affecting Canadian women and women from the developing world, strategies to counter globalization and the need to link collective bargaining and political action.
