UPCE all set for bargaining with Canada Post

The package of proposals has been overwhelmingly ratified by members of the Union of Postal Communications Employees, paving a clear path for the upcoming round of negotiations with Canada Post.

The membership voted for the package during a series of meetings across the country from May to early June 2004.   The meetings were part of a mobilization drive beginning in the fall of 2003, when Locals prepared their packages, followed by the series of regional bargaining conferences from January to March 2004, and culminating in the National Bargaining Conference in April.  

Members of the National Bargaining Team were also elected during the regional bargaining conferences. The members elected are Sandra Dalley for the Atlantic Region, Shelley MacKintosh for the Western Region, Victoria Hill for the Ontario Region and Christine Dutka for the Quebec Region.
