Canada Post Corporation
Bargaining INFO
- August 24, 2004
As you know, your PSAC/UPCE
Bargaining Team was scheduled to be in negotiations with Canada
Post from August 16 to September 3 inclusive. Regrettably, we have
had to amend this timeline, to end the bargaining session on August
31 instead. This change is due to the impending strike at the Canada
Revenue Agency (CRA) which could take place as early as September
3. We and the CRA bargaining team share the same negotiator; we
support our negotiator and the CRA bargaining team in achieving
the best possible collective agreement for the membership.
When establishing the timeline
for negotiations, your Team had been upfront with Canada Post from
the beginning, alerting the employer that these dates would be subject
to the availability of our negotiator. While this change does shorten
slightly our bargaining session, your Team is committed to working
hard in the hope of addressing as many of your demands as possible.
Negotiations are due to resume with Canada Post on September 8.
More news on UPCE bargaining will follow with our next Negotiation
Update later this week .
