PSAC is asking for Conciliation

After careful consideration, and due to the lack of progress after eighteen (18) days of negotiations so far with Canada Post, the PSAC wrote to the Minister of Labour earlier today to have a Conciliation Officer appointed to these negotiations. Your Bargaining Team is confident that a Conciliation Officer will assist the parties to move this process along.

This update is short as, for the second week in a row, there is very little progress to report. Your Bargaining Team was expecting answers from the Corporation on several of your proposals and had hoped for positive results. However, the answers from the employer fell well short of the mark. Needless to say, no articles were signed off in the last couple of days. Negotiations are scheduled to resume on September 8, 2004.
