I ran for PSAC National President because I believe I can make a difference, and bring a new voice to Ottawa. The voting delegates at the 16th National Triennial Convention have proven that they, too, believe this and have demonstrated their confidence in my leadership.

Delegates considered and approved a resolution to create regional youth committees that would be open to members 30 years of age and under.

PSAC to consider electronic voting on collective agreements
Delegates have given PSAC the go ahead to research electronic voting options that could be used throughout the union whenever votes are required, such as the ratification of collective agreements.

Convention to elect national president, NEVP and alternate NEVP
On Thursday morning, the Convention will elect the PSAC's national president, national executive vice-president (NEVP) and the alternate to the NEVP. For the first time, the delegates will get to vote for these positions electronically.

Young workers get organized
Convention delegates voted today to support the creation of regional committees for young workers. Speaking on the convention floor and in interviews, youth delegates expressed their excitement at this move by PSAC.

Massive May Day rally targets Harper government
Convention delegates and observers merged with a thousand other demonstrators, including PSAC members in the NCR, in front of the Prime Minister's Office Tuesday, chanting “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Stephen Harper's got to go,” and stood together to denounce the cuts to public services.

Delegates approve a budget for 2013-15
Convention delegates have adopted a three-year budget that covers the services the union provides to members such as negotiations and mobilization, representation, education, organizing, communications, political action and campaigns, health and safety, and human rights.
