PSAC's National Aboriginal, Inuit and Métis Network
New members of NAIM Circle to hold first meeting
Following the recent selection of the members of the PSAC National Aboriginal, Inuit and Métis Network (NAIM) Circle, plans are under way to hold the Circle’s first meeting from April 14 to 16, 2005.
The National Circle acts as a central ‘Circle' of PSAC members who are Aboriginal, Inuit and Métis. They are mandated to meet face-to-face to discuss and identify issues the Union needs to take on. The members of the Network will be linked to the Circle, which in turn will be connected to the broader Union. To read details of the think-tank report on the National Circle’s mandate.
The new members were selected through a process initiated in each of the PSAC regions. The final selection was made during the PSAC Alliance Executive Committee meeting in early March 2005, based on recommendations from National President Nycole Turmel and the REVP for the North, Jean-François Des Lauriers – the officers who share the responsibility for the NAIM Network within the Union and who also sit as members of the National Circle.
