PSAC Members Rally Against Building Sale,
Toronto Protest Draws 300
The PSAC held a rally today to alert the public to the Conservative government's plan to sell the Joseph Shepard Building. Located at 4900 Yonge St., the publicly-owned building is one of nine buildings the government has put on the block.
Over 300 PSAC members attended the rally and barbeque.
Members of the public who took in the rally expressed shock at the government's plan to sell the building.
PSAC members and the public used the occasion to make donations to the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto.
Speakers at the event included: Bruce Flannigan, PSAC Ontario Council Member, Ken Boone, Alternate to the REVP of Ontario, Alex Sauve, Vice-President Government Services Union, Peggy Nash, Member of Parliament - Parkdale/High Park, NDP.
