Employer walks away from bargaining table
Akwesasne – On Wednesday, January 21, the employer broke off negotiations and stated its intent to apply for mediation. The employer refused to remain at the table and discuss your Bargaining Team's proposal on Staffing and Job Posting.
Your Team is intent on negotiating staffing processes that are transparent, fair and that provide members with a meaningful say in the affairs of their workplace. To date the employer has tabled contract language that allows little opportunity for our members to have a say in staffing allocations.
Your Bargaining Team is determined to reach a fair and just collective agreement with the employer. We encourage members to continue to contact their local union representatives and offer their support to the Bargaining Team.
