PSAC at Fredericton's first Pride parade
Fredericton's first Pride Parade, held on Sunday (August 8, 2010), was a community hit!
“It was very exciting to be part of history, I was amazed by the amount of people that showed up, including the Allies, which are so important. Thank you to all of you who made it, thank you to my Union brothers and sisters for walking this important walk.” said Sandy Harquail, GLBT Atlantic Director for PSAC.
"People of all ages were out in support of the GLBT community; and a lot of people! The amount of people that turned out exceeded everyone's expectation. That tells me this event was long overdue and much needed in Fredericton. Congratulations to the organizers; it was a huge success!" Tiffany Thornhill, UGSW President, said.
PSAC pride flags were scattered amongst the marching GLBT and allies and PSAC Pride and Ally buttons were eagerly accepted and worn by attendees.
Fredericton Pride activities are taking place all week.
