PSAC/UPCE NATIONAL BARGAINING CONFERENCE
UPDATE
Delegates from across the country met from March 30 to April 1, 2012 in Ottawa to review bargaining proposals submitted by members, elect a bargaining team and begin preparations for the upcoming round of negotiations.
There is a new energy, a new team and a clear willingness to fight back on any concessions that CPC may propose and delegates are committed to defending the hard won provisions in our current Collective Agreement.
The Bargaining Team members are: Helene Arbique, Brian Collins, François Paradis, Kirstin MacLean. At the conference two alternates were also elected: first alternate Cam MacDonald and second alternate Cindie Smith.
In addition, delegates welcomed the remarks from the National President, John Gordon and a presentation from CUPW.
Conference participants reviewed and adopted wide range of proposals that were submitted by locals. Delegate discussions included among other topics: Union Rights, the Philatelic Centre, Hours of Work, Part-time provisions, Benefits and Pensions and Job Security.
Delegates left the conference energized and united in their resolve to support the new bargaining team in the upcoming round of bargaining.
