Government must suspend all Integrity Branch house calls and listen to opposition to EI changes

suspend HRSDC’s Integrity Branch house calls

The PSAC is calling on the government to suspend HRSDC’s Integrity Branch house calls and reverse harmful changes made to the Employment Insurance system.

Drastic government changes to EI legislation are hurting recipents, causing undue stress and putting EI workers at risk.

“The government must listen to the widespread opposition to these legislative changes and reverse course, “said Robyn Benson, president of the PSAC.

Benson said many of PSAC’s members are seasonal workers who have been hurt by the changes to EI rules. In addition, PSAC represents workers in the Integrity Branch who carry out house calls.

“PSAC’s priority is to preserve the health and safety of our members, who want to do their job but are under an enormous amount of stress because of the volatility of this situation,” she added.
