Canada Post Pay Equity

PSAC headed to court to make Canada Post pay up

Cour Fédéral

As was reported in December, the PSAC is asking the Federal Court of Canada to compel Canada Post to meet its obligations and pay all of the interest owed to our members, not just the 80% they've agreed they owe.

PSAC's motion asks the Court to enforce the Human Rights Tribunal decision which does not include a discount on interest payments. We believe there is no basis in law for Canada Post's position.

PSAC's enforcement motion is going to be heard by the Federal Court on Tuesday, January 8th. We are asking the Court to convene a hearing and force Canada Post to explain why they believe they are entitled to keep 20% of the interest owed to our members.

After being on the case for almost 30 years, PSAC has no intention of stopping now. It will only be a victory when everyone has received the money they are owed.
